This boiler is in an old dairy barn in New Hampshire and has not been operated since the 70s. It once burned coal and generated steam for sterilization of equipment. It remains in its original installation location, but sits lifeless and lonely, given nobody wants to get near its toxic asbestos insulation about its ancient curves and crevices.
[Gallery not found]If this were a modern furnace…well, it wouldn’t exist, as it surely would have corroded itself out of existence in far fewer years than this old relic has been around for. I’d estimate its age at around 150 years. Any opinions anyone?
