Heidi -

An estimate for air conditioning takes into consideration the SEER (Energy Efficiency) of the equipment being considered, which affects price. The highest SEER is 21, but for your furnace it may only be 18. In that case you would be looking at an approximate price of $5,000. Email me if you would like a formal quote, and as always, it's free!

What would be a ball park guestimate for adding AC to my new Thermopride furnace?

Protech can install virtually any HVAC system, including water source heat pumps as part of your proposed geothermal system. You will first need to get thumbs up from a well driller that ample water supply will be available for the transfer of energy (heat in winter;cold in summer) to efficiently supply a viable geothermal system. Keep me posted!

I see that you are very experienced in HVAC. Do you have experience doing ground source heat pump installations? Its a natural for hydronic. The costs are affordable. Another plus is that it helps the Electric Utility "condition" their power. You use the energy at night during the low period. Its a great system. I have a well driller, but I need an HVAC to put the Water-to-Air system in.
