The HVAC Guru, LLC – Portsmouth, NH 2009 – Present
How did I come up with the name, The HVAC Guru, LLC? Over the years many of my customers have been generous with their praise of my abilities and dubbed me the “Guru,” “Heating Scientist,” “HVAC Doctor” and the like. While I’ve been flattered by their respect for my abilities, I know that no trades person knows it all, me included. I’ve coined a phrase to state this more specifically: It’s a wise man who knows he doesn’t have all of the answers, rather knows where to find them. With that ability, coupled with 30 years experience in HVAC, and being mindful of possible marketing benefits of a name like, “The HVAC Guru,” I created this limited liability company, in New Hampshire, USA.
The HVAC Guru, LLC focuses on hands-on work, such as the following:

Thayer Corporation – Pembroke, NH 2008 – 2009
Sales Engineer – Design, Sales and System Analysis & Troubleshooting
While at Thayer Corp I became involved with diverse climate control projects. I devised a system that utilized a “Smog Hog” particulate air cleaner for a manufacturer of Budweiser beer bottles. I designed an internal heat gain removal system for a military subcontractor research facility and the engineering spreadsheets used to calculate the mechanical equipment loads. In 3 years of operation in New Hampshire, I brought Thayer Corporation their first profitable quarter and enjoyed 2-3 times greater proposal rate than the company average. That success was achieved with the greater efficiency estimation system I had developed over a 10-year period before my employ with Thayer. I left Thayer to pursue the greater opportunities I perceived for myself by once again being self-employed – this was my reality check.
